The XC90 trunk is designed with a wide, flat floor with no lip to make loading and unloading easier. The XC90 has a maximum cargo capacity of 85.7 cu. ft. Lots to pack? Fold seats down individually or in rows to adjust the space. There’s also a storage area under the floor. Open and close the power-operated tailgate hands-free by kicking under the rear bumper. You can also use buttons on the tailgate, center display and key fob.

The XC90 gas (mild hybrid) and XC90 plug-in hybrid differ mainly in how they generate power. The mild hybrid uses a battery to assist the gas engine, boosting efficiency during acceleration and cruising without needing to charge externally. It cannot be plugged in to charge.The plug-in hybrid has a larger battery that can be charged from an external source. Both help reduce emissions compared to a regular combustion engine, but the plug-in hybrid allows you to drive on pure electric power.
