Volvo EX90. Meet the new fully electric EX90, a premium 7-seat SUV that defines a new era for safety.
The figures are preliminary and derive from estimates and calculations performed by Volvo Cars for Volvo EX90 and these outcomes are not guaranteed. There may also be a difference in the figures based on Volvo Cars’ estimates compared with other testing standards. The driving range and energy consumption under real conditions vary depending on factors including but not limited to driving style, road and traffic conditions, environmental influences, vehicle condition and accessories fitted. This means the real world energy consumption you experience can differ from that stated above. Charging times are based on using DC fast charging equipment and fees and charges may apply when using such equipment. Charging times can vary and are dependent on factors such as outdoor temperature, battery temperature, charging equipment, battery condition and car condition.
Our new Volvo EX90 SUV comes with seven comfortable and adult-sized seats.
All wheel drive and one pedal drive make each ride both exciting and relaxing.
Tailored by Bowers & Wilkins, the Volvo EX90 offers a 3D surround sound experience out of the ordinary.
With lidar and interior occupant sensing, the Volvo EX90 delivers our highest level of standard safety.
We’re human, we make mistakes. So if life happens to sometimes distract you, we are here to help keep you safe. With the new Volvo EX90 we enter a new era for safety.
Two interior sensors and a capacitive steering wheel feed information about the driver to an algorithm, communicating with the car’s exterior sensors. It is intended to detect if you are distracted or drowsy and when it might need to step in and support.
The new occupant sensing system is designed to help prevent anyone from being inadvertently left behind in a potentially dangerous scenario by providing alerts.
To further assist the driver through crossings, the Volvo EX90 will not only react to oncoming vehicles when making a right turn. If needed, the car can also emergency brake automatically to help avoid a collision with another vehicle when going straight through a crossing.
Lidar and Safe Space Technology
The advanced standard exterior sensor set with radars, cameras and ultrasonic sensors is in Volvo EX90 complemented with a lidar that continuously scan the environment in front of the car, enabling an accurate and high-precision estimate of the shape and size of objects in three-dimensional understanding of the surroundings. By combining the understanding of the outside environment with recognising the state of the driver, it is intended to detect when the driver needs extra support.
Pilot Assist - enhanced driver assistance
The EX90 enhanced driver assistance is intended to make your journey smoother and more relaxing. The car can help keep an eye on the traffic and lane markings and support you by adapting your speed and distances given the current driving conditions. It can provide speed control in steep curves and steering support while changing lanes. If the car detects any sign of the driver being unresponsive it is designed to brake the car to a standstill within the lane.
The new core computer of the Volvo EX90 makes the infotainment system quicker and more convenient to use than ever. With its intuitive and adaptive interface your preferences will be stored and easily accessible with one-tap-access on a brand new contextual bar.

Yes.
The range depends on various factors such as driving style and outdoor temperature, weather, wind, topography and roads. Other factors that impact range include how much electricity you use for car functions such as heating and cooling of the car. One way to improve the range is to pre-condition your car during charging so it’s already at a comfortable temperature when you start your drive.
The cost for electricity varies depending on local conditions, but the cost can be lower compared to petrol or diesel. The lowered fuel cost is also one of several reasons to switch to an electric car. To further lower the cost, you can pre-set your Volvo EX90 to charge during the times when the tariffs are the lowest, often at night.
You will find the fastest charging at a DC fast-charging station along the route. To charge as fast as possible, we recommend you to limit the car's charging level to 80 per cent. This helps keep your charging times short because the last 20 per cent of charging takes the longest time. So charging the battery from 10 to 80 per cent at a 250kW DC fast-charger can be down to 30 minutes.
* But if needed to reach your destination or the next charging station, you can choose to charge the battery up to 100 per cent using the settings in the car’s centre display.
* Charging times may vary and are dependent on factors such as outdoor temperature, current battery temperature, charging equipment, battery condition and car condition.
Yes. Instead of leather we have developed our own Nordico material which is composed of recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, bio-attributed materials from Swedish and Finnish forests and textiles from recycled wine corks. Nordico has a 70% lower carbon footprint than our current leather interior. By 2030, all new fully electric Volvo cars will be leather-free.
In countries where Google Maps includes charging stations, you will find public charging stations on the map or via a smartphone app.

Volvo Cars is committed to full traceability. We want our customers to feel confident that they are driving a Volvo where the battery’s raw material has been sourced responsibly. The introduction of blockchain technology significantly boosts traceability within our cobalt supply chain. Blockchain, in conjunction with inspection on mining sites, GPS tracking, entry and exit scanning, verified logistics providers, facial recognition, ID checks, and time tracking, allows material traceability from the mine to the car factory.
We work closely with our suppliers to ensure sustainability of our products and services. We are committed to the responsible sourcing of minerals and metals, and fully support the OECD Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-affected and High-risk Areas.
Sustainability performance is key for us when assessing and selecting suppliers. We monitor the performance of existing suppliers and follow up with third party audits. We also require from our battery suppliers to minimise carbon emissions during the production, including usage of renewable energy. All our suppliers must agree to the Volvo Cars' Code of Conduct for Business Partners, which includes assessment of human rights and labour laws.
Safety is in our DNA. Driven by our long-term safety vision we aim to continuously improve safety. With lidar and an AI-driven supercomputer standard in the Volvo EX90, together with a robust set of exterior and interior sensors will make the Volvo EX90 reach the highest level of standard safety in a Volvo car.
