Run-out season has started for the XC90. Which makes it a great time to visit a Volvo retailer to take advantage.
It’s always a good time to buy Volvo Cars’ multi award winning XC90. But because it’s on run-out for the next few weeks, top of the range luxury now offers even more value.
Volvo Cars’ XC90 is the pinnacle of practicality, luxury, comfort and safety. Timeless Scandinavian design, smooth handling, a powerful yet efficient engine and cutting edge technology make the seven-seater the standout in its class.
As Top Gear recently put it: “The best family SUV out there … This is a handsome, cool car for forward-thinking people. Like you.
“The XC90 will carry you and your family in safety and security, with minimal fuss and hassle and look good while doing so.”
Or as the experts at Which Car state: “The Volvo XC90 has consistently been celebrated as an emblem of luxury and safety within the large SUV segment.
“The 2024 XC90 Ultimate upholds this esteemed tradition, delivering a polished and elegant driving experience. As Volvo's premier SUV, the XC90 melds the company's dedication to safety with unmatched luxury and comfort.”
Right now, the 2024 model XC90 is in run-out, making it a great time to take advantage at a Volvo retailer.
Here are some of the key features:
Mild hybrid technology harnesses a 48v battery to electrically boost acceleration from standstill – and recover energy from braking, contributing to the XC90’s high fuel efficiency.
Interior
Inside the luxurious cabin, up to seven people can travel in unrivalled comfort – with Volvo’s ergonomic seating quality world-renowned. Meanwhile seat ventilation and optional ten-point massage for your back, plus Nappa leather accented front seats make every trip a genuine pleasure.
A four-zone climate system means the driver, front seat passenger and outer rear seat passengers can create their own individual climate comfort zone. But those in the back aren’t left out: a separate air conditioning system in the third row allows passengers to regulate airflow themselves. It can also be activated when the seats are folded, which means any pets in the rear can also stay cool.
An air purifier stops up to 95 per cent of extremely small particles – pollutants known as PM 2.5 – from entering the cabin, so however the driver and passengers choose to set their climate, it’s cleaner air than outside.
An optional panoramic roof floods the cabin with light, accentuating the feeling of space, while an exceptional 1,410 watt Bowers & Wilkins high-fidelity audio option comes with four different ‘room modes’, including studio, individual stage, concert hall and jazz club.
Tech
Built-in Google apps and services make using the Volvo XC90 as intuitive to use as a smartphone: Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play are fully integrated – and access is free for five years*. Plus the infotainment adapts to each driver, which means it becomes more personalised over time.
There’s also Apple CarPlay, which means Apple users can integrate their iPhones with the XC90, giving in-car access to iPhone apps – and control via the centre display.
Whether Android or iPhone, wireless charging means drivers can just put their phone into the storage space in front of the cupholders – and get it topped up as they drive, no wires needed.
Safety
Dual-stage frontal airbags are complemented by a knee airbag on the driver’s side. Meanwhile a roof-deployed inflatable curtain is designed to protect the head and neck of all occupants during a collision or roll-over.
In the event of a rear impact, clever front seat design helps the reduce of whiplash, while Volvo’s side impact protection system – SIPS – protects against side-on collisions by spreading the crash force across the car’s body.
The XC90’s safety assistance features help reduce the risk of collisions. These include a lane keeping aid, oncoming lane mitigation, pilot assist, and adaptive cruise control. Meanwhile, a park assist system helps when manoeuvring into tight spaces with restricted vision, and a 360-degree camera system means drivers can see what’s happening on all sides of the car – including a bird’s eye view.
Exterior
Sitting on 21-inch 5-V spoke black diamond cut alloys, the XC90 exudes confidence and poise.
Innovative design makes the grille appear to float inside the body opening.
The black lower outer grilles with chrome strip enhance its elegant looks, while bright aluminium trim around the side windows and roof rails accentuate the SUV’s finer features.
Performance
On-demand all-wheel drive increases driving stability and traction on all road surfaces and all weathers, while hill start assist and hill descent control delivers enhanced safety on steep, rough and slippery roads.
A quick and smooth shifting 8-speed Geartronic automatic transmission means drivers are always in the right gear – whether for optimal engine response at all revs, or for smooth cruising with highest efficiency. And for those in the mood for dynamic driving, it’s a simple shift to manual mode.
Mild hybrid technology harnesses a 48v battery to electrically boost acceleration from standstill – and recover energy from braking, contributing to the XC90’s high fuel efficiency.
As to be expected with Volvo’s flagship SUV, the full spec and options are almost too long to list. Take advantage of run-out season – contact your local retailer and book a test drive.
