The sum of all parts: Where and how to keep your car… a Volvo Car

How can Volvo owners keep their car 100 per cent Volvo when the carmaker does not operate its own repair network in Australia, and why does it matter?

“We have a simple catchphrase at Volvo Cars: We want our customers to keep their Volvo 100 per cent Volvo,” says Volvo Network Development Manager, Jason Johnston.

How can customers do that when Volvo Car Australia doesn’t operate its own repair network? By using only Volvo-approved repairers, expertly trained to a Volvo repair program, who use only 100 per cent Volvo Cars parts and accessories, and who have access to all the necessary specialist tools.

That way, the car will always work as intended from the factory – even things like windscreens are vital to keep original, because they are integral parts of increasingly sophisticated on-board safety systems. Having genuine parts installed by people that know exactly what they are doing ensures these safety systems function properly.

And safety is what drives Volvo.

Choosing those approved partners will become even more important as Volvo transitions to become an all-electric vehicles company – within three years in Australia.

“When Volvo genuine parts and accessories are fitted to our customers’ vehicles, their Volvo will always work as intended from the factory,” says Johnston. “When a customer gets a vehicle back from a repair, it should feel like it did the day they drove it out of the new-car showroom.”

Johnson was speaking to Allianz, the insurer of Volvo Car Premier Motor Insurance, which gives the Volvo drivers it covers the ability to choose one of Volvo’s 30 approved repairers.

Moving from maintaining internal combustion engine vehicles to those powered by batteries and electric motors requires a different skillset for core components of the cars to keep both drivers and technicians safe.

Volvo Cars Australia has approved repairers operating across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania and Australian Capital Territory – and is working to establish more.
