This is the Waze: New navigation app front and centre for Volvo drivers
Volvo Cars and Google-owned Waze have optimised the navigation app especially for Volvo’s infotainment system.
Volvo Cars has boosted its in-car library with navigation app Waze now available to all models with Google built-in*. That means drivers can use it via their car’s central screen – and not have to look at their phones.
After a one-time download and set-up, drivers use the app via the car’s infotainment system, making navigation more comfortable with a bigger, bolder eye-level display.
The Google-owned app also maps out electric vehicle charging stations. Drivers can enter their EV and preferred plug-type to find chargers that match their needs along their route. Because Waze is community updated, as well as via official traffic and location feeds, any issues with charging stations are also more likely to be flagged in the app.

Plus, Waze has been optimised for Volvo Cars because the developers were able to develop and test it on the Android emulator hosted on the Volvo Cars Developer Portal. That means a better experience, with bugs ironed out, prior to launch.
