The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies of the consumer under a law in relation to the product to which the warranty relates.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Your are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure do not amount to a major failure.

Any claim under the terms of this warranty should be referred to an Australian Volvo Retailer. A consumer must, at its own cost, present the vehicle to an Authorised Volvo Retailer together with this booklet. A list of all Authorised Volvo Retailers and their address details may be found at www.volvocars.com/au.

Note: Failure to perform the required maintenance on a timely basis and in accordance with Volvo's service interval may invalidate warranty coverage on affected parts. Service intervals are every 15,000 Km or 12 months, whichever comes first.

THE VOLVO CAR AUSTRALIA 5 YEARS/ UNLIMITED KILOMETRE NEW CAR WARRANTY Does this apply to Volvo Accessories?

Any genuine Volvo Accessory (excluding gifts) supplied and fitted by a Volvo Retailer within one month or 1,500 Km (whichever occurs first) of the new vehicle being put into service will benefit from the same warranty terms and duration as the vehicle warranty.

PLEASE NOTE: This warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear. The vehicle may not be covered under the terms of this warranty, should the vehicle not be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. Tyres are covered separately by the tyre manufacturer. Your retailer will, however, assist you with any tyre claim.

The Volvo Car Australia Warranty will cease to apply to any vehicle, which Volvo believes on reasonable grounds, has been “written off”.

Written off in relation to vehicle means, without limitations, that the owner, insurer or financer of the vehicle has decided that the vehicle has been so severely damaged that it is no longer economic to repair.

Hybrid Battery Warranty

The Hybrid battery has an 8-year warranty.

The Lithium battery fitted to Volvo hybrids, like all lithium batteries, will experience gradual capacity loss with time and use. Loss of battery capacity due to or resulting from normal gradual capacity loss is not covered under the Volvo new car warranty.

Your Volvo’s 12-volt battery is covered under your vehicle’s new car warranty for a period of 3 years.

The Volvo Warranty applies providing:

• That the vehicle is used according to specifications in the owner’s handbook. • That the prescribed maintenance services are carried out at the correct intervals. • That only genuine Volvo parts are used, and also that all warranty repairs are carried out by an Authorised Volvo Retailer. • That the vehicle has not been modified from manufacturer’s specifications. Volvo does not accept any responsibility or liability for compensation other than that detailed above. Use for hire or reward, competition or for driver training/instruction may void your warranty.

AIR CONDITIONING

Moisture condensation in the air conditioning system provides an ideal environment for mould, bacteria and fungi to grow over time, possibly causing odours. To help prevent this from happening Volvo recommends cleaning the air conditioner evaporator or refresh the air ducts, every 15,000 Km/ 12 months. For further information please ask your Authorized Volvo Retailer.

INTERIOR POLLEN FILTER - MULTI FILTER

Your Volvo has been fitted with an interior pollen filter or a multi filter, which consists of polypropylene to effectively clean the incoming air from particles such as pollen and dust down to 0.01μm. This filter will require replacement at 15,000 Km or 12 months, whichever occurs first, to remain effective.

The Multi-Filter consists of two media. The first, polypropylene will filter pollen and dust, the second media consists of active charcoal which cleans the air from gases such as hydrocarbons, organic Sulphur and hydrogen compounds. This filter is ideal for city style driving.

FUEL USAGE

To ensure you use the correct grade or fuel, in your vehicle, please refer to Owner’s Manual for the required specification.

ADDITIONAL OIL CHANGES

If driving conditions are demanding, i.e. towing, stop/start driving or short distance driving, we would recommend an oil change every 7,500 Km or six months, whichever occurs first.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED?

The Vehicle Warranty does not cover items that are subject to adjustment or replacement during normal service or maintenance operations (unless the work is required as a direct result of a manufacturing defect). This applies to the following items: • Replacement or “Top up” of consumable fluids, i.e. oils, anti-freeze, brake fluid, windscreen washer fluid. • Wiper blades. • Oil, air and fuel filters. • All light bulbs (interior and exterior) excluding Xenon. • Drive belts- replacement or adjustment. • Wheel alignment / balancing. • Lubrication. • Spark plugs. • Brake pads / discs replacement due to wear.

ADDITIVES

Volvo does not sanction the use of any lubricating, braking, fuel or cooling system additive other than those specifically supplied by Volvo through our official operation, or recommended in Volvo repair instructions.

OWNER MAINTENANCE

In your owner’s manual, you will find details of some simple checks that the owner or operator should carry out on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. These are precautionary measures designed to promote safe and reliable operation of your vehicle and must not be ignored.

MAIN SERVICES

It is very important that services are carried out throughout the life of the vehicle, at either the distance or time intervals (whichever is the sooner) shown elsewhere in this booklet.

The precise content of each service will vary from model to model and according to the age and mileage of the vehicle. Your retailer will be pleased to supply a copy of the maintenance schedule, listing all the service operations applicable to your vehicle, on request.

Note: Failure to adhere to the recommended service and operating instructions may result in premature wear or damage of your vehicles’ mechanical components.
