Keep your car's software up to date with no effort. Over-the-air updates send the latest version of existing software-based features from the cloud directly to your car. It's an easy way to add new software-based features, too.
A digital services package gives you access to exclusive in-car streaming and entertainment apps. With unlimited data included in your digital services package, you can enjoy everything your favourite apps have to offer. Google services are enabled through the Digital services package which is included for four years. After this period ends, new terms and fees will apply if you choose to renew.
Make calls, send messages, access maps and play music without taking your eyes off the road using Apple CarPlay. Apple CarPlay is fully compatible as standard with the Volvo EC40 for models newer than the Apple iPhone 5.

This can help take the strain out of stop-and-go traffic. Your fully electric EC40 can even help hold the centre lane with a gentle steer assist.
Make the most of driving a fully electric Volvo SUV with the Volvo Cars app. Find charging stations, monitor charging status and schedule at-home charging. Get set up before you set off by adjusting the cabin climate, running an air purification cycle and more. Forget your keys? No problem. Use the app to lock and unlock your car.
Breathe cleaner air with our advanced air purification system. It prevents up to 80 per cent of hazardous PM 2.5 particles from entering the cabin, delivering better quality air no matter the outside conditions. You can also monitor particles and pollen levels outside and in real time.

Safety and driver assistance features
Park more confidently with a 360° view of your EC40. Four cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors combine to give you a complete picture of your SUV to increase the visibility of objects outside your car.
Reverse with confidence supported by a cross traffic alert. Whether you have a limited rear view or not, the system can detect vehicles crossing behind your EC40 and apply the brakes if necessary.
Stress less about lane changes. When a vehicle enters your blind spot, the EC40 can alert you via a light in the left or right door mirror and, if needed, help steer your car back into your lane.
Your EC40 can help you stay in your lane when you unintentionally drift. It can send subtle vibrations through the steering wheel and steer your SUV safely back inside the lane.
Your EC40 is designed to help detect and avoid other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and large animals day or night. The SUV will first warn you if there’s a risk of collision. If you don’t react in time, the car can steer and brake the car.
To help keep passengers safe and the battery intact in the event of a collision, the EC40 carries a unique safety structure. The battery is protected by a safety cage consisting of an extruded aluminium frame embedded in the middle of the car’s body structure.

Detection systems are dependent on objects being illuminated and require the vehicle’s front and rear lights to be working when it is dark. Driver remains responsible for safe driving at all times.
