Issues related to Volvo ID

Common issues related to Volvo ID, along with solutions, are described here.

If you don't find a solution to your problem, contact Volvo support or your local Volvo dealer.

No confirmation message upon registration of a new account

If you did not receive a confirmation message when registering a new account, ensure that the e-mail address used is valid. Also ensure that the message was not stopped by any spam filter. Try registering your account again.

Login failure after creating a new account

Sometimes there may be a delay in the process. If so, your account will not be available directly after it has been created. Try again after 24 hours. If the problem remains, contact Volvo support or your local Volvo dealer for further assistance.

Login failure after changing your username

Make sure that you have received a confirmation message and activated your account. Once this has been done, you should be able to log in using your new username. If you did not receive a confirmation message, your old username is probably still in use. Log in and change your username again.

Login failure after changing your password

Try to log in using your old password. If this doesn't work, reset the password again.

Forgotten your username

If you are logged in to the Volvo Cars app, but are unsure of which phone number1 or e-mail address is registered to your Volvo ID:

Go to the Px-2037-VOC app icon Profile tab.
Select Manage account.

The phone number1 or e-mail address is displayed.

If you are not logged in to the Volvo Cars app:

Create a new Volvo ID.

Log in using your new Volvo ID in the Volvo Cars app and pair it with your vehicle.

Forgotten your password

To reset your password in the Volvo Cars app:
Open the Volvo Cars app.
Select Log in.
Press Forgot password and follow the instructions.

You can also reset your password at volvoid.eu.volvocars.com/Account.

Unlocking your Volvo ID

After five failed attempts to log in to the Volvo Cars app, your account will be locked for 15 minutes. You can either unlock the account by resetting your password or try again after 15 minutes.

New contact details

 Note

If you've previously created a Volvo ID linked to a phone number, you won't be able to change that phone number. Instead, you'll have the option to change it to an e-mail address.

If you still have access to the phone number or e-mail address that is connected to your Volvo ID, change your username.

If you don't have access to the phone number or e-mail address that is connected to your Volvo ID, create a new Volvo ID.

Relocating to another country

An account is registered to a specific country and cannot be transferred. If you want to reuse the same e-mail address, delete your current account and create a new one. Be sure to select the correct country during registration.

  1. 1 This applies to users who have previously created a Volvo ID with a phone number. As of now, Volvo IDs can only be created with an email-address.
