Opening the doors
From inside the car, the doors are opened using the handle on the door itself.
From outside the car, you open the doors using the door handles. The door handles stay folded in until you unlock the car.
Note
Driver door handle
There are two touch points on the outer door handle: the inner part and the small indentation on the side nearest the door pillar.
The inner part of the handle is used to open the door. This touch point will also unlock the door if you're carrying a distance-capable key.
The indentation marks where you can place your thumb or fingers to lock the door when closing it.
Important
Mechanical pull
Unless the child lock is on, the doors can always be opened from the inside using the mechanical pull.
This acts as a last resort or emergency option for opening the doors, even if the car battery is flat. The mechanical release requires the door handle to be pulled all the way up and requires some force.
Double pull
The rear doors have a double-pull feature. This safety feature is to help protect against accidental opening of the rear doors. This requires that a rear passenger pulls the door handle twice before being able to open it from the inside.
When the child lock is active, the double-pull feature doesn't work for the rear doors as they can't be opened.
