Activating and deactivating the parking brake
Activating the parking brake
Automatic activation
The parking brake is applied automatically
- if the driver removes their seat belt and/or opens the driver's door.
- when the vehicle is switched off manually from the center display.
- if the Hold (automatic braking at a standstill) function is activated and the vehicle has been stationary for a long period of time (about 10 minutes).
Important
Emergency braking
In an emergency, the parking brake can be activated when the vehicle is moving by pushing and holding down the button.
The brakes will then be applied with force in order to brake the vehicle. The braking process is canceled when the button is released or if the accelerator pedal is depressed.
Note
Deactivating the parking brake
The parking brake is deactivated automatically when a gear position is selected.
If regenerative braking is activated, the vehicle will not move forward, but could begin rolling away if the ground is leaning in the same direction as the selected gear position.
If regenerative braking is deactivated, the vehicle will drive slowly in the selected direction if the accelerator pedal is pressed lightly.
