Remote Vehicle Immobilizer (RVI) with Volvo On Call
If the vehicle is stolen, an immobilizer can be activated remotely.1
If the vehicle has been stolen, the owner can contact the Volvo On Call customer service center (by phone or via the Volvo On Call app) or the authorities.
Note
This applies even if the vehicle has been opened and stolen using the associated remote key.
After consulting with the authorities, the Volvo On Call customer service center can deactivate the remote keys to prevent the vehicle from being started. A deactivated vehicle can only be restarted through contact with the Volvo On Call customer service center and verification of PIN code. The Volvo On Call customer service center will then reactivate the remote keys.
