 Important

Warranty not applicable

Using engine oil that is not of the prescribed grade and viscosity can damage engine-related components. Volvo does not accept any liability for such damage.

Check engine oil level

The vehicle must only be used when the engine oil level is at the correct level. Driving with low oil can damage the engine.

You must only use engine oil of the prescribed quality, otherwise the recommended service intervals and warranty will not apply. Using engine oil with a different quality can also have a negative effect on your vehicle's service life, starting characteristics, fuel consumption and environmental impact.

Volvo recommends:

Castrol Edge Professional label

All engines are filled at the factory with a specially-adapted synthetic engine oil that has been carefully selected. This is done to fulfill the requirements for the engine's service intervals.

Volvo recommends that oil changes be done by an authorized Volvo workshop.

Low oil pressure

Low oil pressure symbol

If you see this symbol in the instrument panel, the engine oil pressure might be low. Stop driving and recover the vehicle to a workshop1.
