Information about substances on the candidate list (CL) according to REACH regulation, article 33.1

Under article 33.1 of the REACH regulation (EC 1907/2006)1, professional customers must be notified of the existence of substances of very high concern (SVHC2) in products supplied by Volvo Cars. The intention is to enable safe handling of relevant ingoing components in order to protect people and the environment.

Volvo Cars supports the objectives of the REACH regulation in general, and in particular Article 33, which is consistent with our commitment to promote responsible manufacturing, handling and use of our products.

Content of substances on the candidate list

The parts below in the "Table of substances on the candidate list" contain substances with more than 0.1 percent by weight that are on the candidate list (CL) for the specified vehicle. Information about the substances on the candidate list (CL) is based on the information we have received from our suppliers and on our own product data.

General information for safe use of products

Every vehicle from Volvo Cars is supplied with an Owner's Manual containing information about safe use for the vehicle's owner/drivers/users. Volvo Cars' information about repairs and service of vehicles and original parts also contains information on safe use for service personnel.

The substances listed in the applicable "Table of substances on the candidate list" and which occur in parts of the specific vehicle are integrated in such a way that potential exposure to customers and risks to people or the environment can be minimized as long as the vehicle and its parts are used as intended and repairs, service and maintenance are performed according to the technical instructions for these activities and in accordance with good standard practice in the industry.

Within the EU, a previously owned vehicle may only be disposed of in a legal manner by an authorized treatment facility (ATF). Vehicle parts must be disposed of according to applicable local law and instructions from local authorities.
