Sharing Volvo Cars app access to your car with other drivers

Invite friends and family to access your car in the Volvo Cars app.

All you need to do is create a QR code or an invite link in the app to share the access. You can remove connected drivers from your profile at any time.

You can only share app access with other drivers from the owner profile.

Inviting other drivers

After setting up your owner profile and connecting the app to the car, you'll receive a push notification to share app access. If you want to share app access at a later stage, follow the steps below.

In the Volvo Cars app, go to the profile tab Px-2037-VOC app icon Profile > Your cars.
Select your car > Drivers > Share app access and follow the instructions.
You will see all pending and accepted invitations under Drivers.

 Note

If you have enabled notifications in the Volvo Cars app, you will receive a push notification on your phone when a driver accepts your invitation. You can find the notification settings in the profile tab Px-2037-VOC app icon Profile.

All drivers need to create their own Volvo ID and log in to the Volvo Cars app before accepting the invitation.

If invitations aren't accepted within 48 hours, they will expire.

Removing connected drivers

In the Volvo Cars app, go to the profile tab Px-2037-VOC app icon Profile > Your cars.
Select your car > Drivers.
Press Remove next to the driver and follow the instructions.

Cars with Google built-in from model year 2026 (2025w17) and later need to have software version 4.1.x.
