Performing a factory reset of your car

If you have a pre-owned car and the previous user has not removed their profiles and phones are still paired, a factory reset is recommended.

The instructions for a factory reset varies depending on car model and model year, so be sure to read the section that applies to your car.

 Note

A factory reset will remove any phones paired with your car, reset the car to factory values and remove all data and settings stored in the car.

Performing a factory reset

Applies to cars with Google built-in.

In the centre display, swipe down from the top to reach the notification centre.
Press the currently used profile icon in the top left of the display.
Select the owner profile (the first profile created).
Go to iCup-2037-Settings symbol.
Navigate to System > Reset options > Factory reset.
The car is now reset to the factory values.
