Steering assistance with lane assistance
For LKA1 steering assistance to work, the driver must have his/her hands on the steering wheel.
This symbol in the driver display shows that LKA is activated and constantly checking that the driver has his/her hands on the steering wheel.
1. | If the driver does not keep his/her hands on the steering wheel, a warning signal is heard and a message encourages the driver to steer the car actively: | Lane Keeping Aid Apply steering
2. | If LKA detects that the driver is not controlling the car, the message is repeated with a longer warning signal than the previous one.
3. | If the driver does not then start steering the car, a short warning signal at a different pitch is heard, LKA is deactivated, another symbol comes on and the following message is displayed: | – Lane Keeping Aid – Apply steering | LKA will then be deactivated until the driver starts to steer the car again. |
The warning signal stops sounding and the information symbol and message disappear when LKA detects that the driver is actively steering the car again.
