We now have Prime Video and YouTube in our cars

Our cars are now even better equipped to keep you entertained as we introduce Amazon Prime Video in our cars with Google Play.

Whether you’re charging your car or waiting to pick up a loved one, Amazon Prime Video is now available in your Volvo car.

We are among the first carmakers in the world to offer Prime Video in its cars, and the app is available for download in all markets where Google apps and services are available.

But the fun doesn’t stop there: YouTube is also coming to our cars with Google built-in.

The service will become available as a pre-installed app starting from 18 September with a gradual rollout via over-the-air update, market by market.

“Adding services such as Prime Video and YouTube to our cars bolsters the continuously growing list of software and applications to make lives for our drivers better,” says Erik Severinson, our global head of new car programmes. “We are delivering on our promise of building cars that grow with our customers over time.”

Since safety is at the core of our business, we want to make sure to minimise any distractions from the road ahead. That’s why access to video streaming will only be available when the car is fully stationary.

Both apps will be available in our cars with Google built-in in markets globally, except China, South Korea and Vietnam. The availability of the features and services mentioned may also differ between markets.
