Software updates
Updating your car's software ensures that it remains up to date with the latest features and improvements.
Software updates are primarily done over the air (OTA) and all previous updates are included when you install one. Keep in mind that you may be charged for installing software updates at a Volvo dealer, unless installation is included in a repair or service agreement.
When a new update is available, you’ll get a notification in the centre display and in the Volvo Cars app showing estimated time for installation and what’s included in the update.
Functionality after updating may vary depending on market, model, model year and options.
Important
The 3.2.4, 3.2.5 and 3.2.8 software updates contain the same software, but which one is available depends on factors such as the car's model year, options or engine type. They are only available in workshops and not over the air (OTA).
If any of these updates is installed, your car is up to date and you have the latest version. If neither is installed the correct version for your car will be included the next over-the-air (OTA) update.
