Important
Only use petrol from well-known manufacturers. Never refuel your car if you aren't sure about the quality.
Always use the correct fuel. Even small amounts of the wrong type of fuel could damage the fuel system and engine.
Avoid spilling petrol when refuelling. In addition to causing harm to the environment, petrol containing alcohol can cause damage to painted surfaces.
Never use the fuel-driven heater when the car is at a petrol station.
Turn off the car and open the fuel filler flap by pressing the fuel button on the dashboard, next to the steering wheel.
Note
After you have opened the fuel filler flap, you must refuel within 15 minutes, otherwise the fuel filler opening closes. Press the fuel button again and wait until the driver display shows the Ready for refuelling message.
Insert the pump nozzle into the fuel filler opening. The filler pipe has two opening caps. The pump nozzle must be pushed past both caps before refuelling starts.
Tip
Refuelling from a fuel container
If you are refuelling from a fuel container, be sure to use the funnel located in the foam block in the boot's cargo hold.
Refuel your car. Only fill the tank until the pump nozzle cuts out the first time.
Note
Do not overfill the tank. An overfilled tank can overflow, especially in high temperatures and hot weather.
When you are done refuelling your car, gently press the flap to close it.
