For remote heater start, the car's parking heater is used to heat the car. You can choose either to state when you want to leave, and the heater then starts automatically depending on the outdoor temperature at your car, or you can choose to start the heater straight away. If the heater is not allowed to start (e.g. in the event of low fuel level), this will be indicated in the Volvo On Call app.
Criteria for remote heater start
The heater starts only if the following criteria are met:
- The outdoor temperature at the car is below 15 °C.
- The car has sufficient fuel.
- The car has sufficient battery level.
- The car has mobile coverage (i.e. that it can receive the heater's start command).
Direct heater start and direct heater stop
Go to the Home tab.
Select Parking heater.
From here you can choose to start and stop the heater.
If starting directly, the heater operates for approx. 50 min or until it is switched off.
Programming the heater
You can pre-program the heater to start at eight set times:
Go to the Home tab.
Select Parking heater.
Set Timer to the times when you want the car to be warmed up.
Based on the outdoor temperature, the car will calculate when the heater needs to be switched on in order for the car to be warm at a specific time.
Using direct heater start/direct heater stop you can cancel ongoing pre-programmed starts.
