Adding a contact detail for Volvo ID account recovery

After you've created a Volvo ID account, it's good to add an additional contact detail to your account's personal details. This will allow you to recover your account if you lose access to the e-mail account or phone number you provided as your username when creating your Volvo ID. This also means that you won't need to create a new Volvo ID account and you'll be able to easily reset a forgotten password.

This article is applicable to models with Google built-in.

When recovering your account, a verification code will be sent to your additional contact detail to verify your Volvo ID. For information on how to recover your account, see Issues related to Volvo ID.

It's important that the additional contact detail is an e-mail address or phone number that you have access to and is personal to you.
Select your market and press Log in.
After you've logged in, select Account.
Press Change under Personal details.
Fill in all the details and press Save details.
If your Volvo ID username is an e-mail address, you'll be able to add a phone number to your personal details. If your Volvo ID username is a phone number, you'll be able to add an e-mail.
