The fully electric EX30, a compact yet spacious and smart company car

In recent years, the automotive industry has seen a significant shift towards electric cars, driven by environmental concerns and technological advancements.

At Volvo Cars, our goal is to become a fully electric car company by 2030, and one electric car that has already garnered significant interest as a company car is the compact yet sophisticated Volvo EX30.

Great for daily commuting

The Volvo EX30 is designed to meet the demands placed on a modern car today. It’s compact yet spacious, and with comfortable seats, it’s suitable for both daily commutes to work and longer journeys. The car is quiet to drive and has advanced safety features, plus Google built in which makes things like navigation straightforward.

Insights from Volvo EX30 drivers

To better understand how the Volvo EX30 performs as a company car, we met and interviewed two EX30 company car drivers, Joel (Regional Sales Manager) and Atte (IT Product Owner), who were among the first to order the latest newcomer to our electric lineup.

When choosing a company car, both mentioned that several factors led them to select the Volvo EX30, such as comfort and safety. They also decided to switch to an electric car influenced by sustainability trends and economic benefits.

All these factors, combined with the car's design and technical features, made the Volvo EX30 a perfect match for their needs.

First impressions and comfort

Both drivers' initial impressions and experiences were positive. Joel mentioned that the car's excellent road handling and smooth ride enhance its comfort. "Something else I appreciate is the adjustable steering feel. When driving longer distances on roads with higher speed limits, I find having a slightly firmer steering feel comfortable," Joel continued. Despite its compact size, the car feels spacious, and even taller individuals can sit comfortably.

Technical features and performance

One of the highlights mentioned during our interviews was the Volvo EX30's technical systems. Google Maps provides easy navigation without taking your focus off the surroundings outside the car. Joel said, "I like how they have thought about the sound system in the car. Removing the speakers from the sides of the doors and placing a soundbar at the front makes the car feel more spacious while delivering excellent sound quality." Safety features, such as adaptive cruise control and adjustable distance settings, add to the car's appeal.

Appreciated aspects of the car

When we asked the two drivers what they particularly liked about the Volvo EX30, they mentioned its impressive range.

"I can complete all my work-related trips on a single charge." Joel, Regional Sales Manager

The car's design, fantastic comfort, infotainment system, and driving experience were also highlighted as positive aspects. "The silence of the car has positively surprised me. There are no extra noises. The car is also very comfortable in winter conditions," Atte continued.

Volvo EX30 as a company car

The Volvo EX30 is becoming an increasingly popular company car thanks to its comfort, range on a single charge, and technical features. Both interviewees highly recommend the EX30 as a company car, particularly noting its attractive price point, comprehensive included features, and suitability for couples. As electric cars become the new road norm, we foresee a bright future for this compact yet spacious and smart electric car.
