Refilling engine oil
You may need to top up the engine oil between service intervals. You only need to do this if a message appears in the driver display.
Your car has electronic oil level sensors and will warn you if the engine oil level is low. There is no oil dipstick on your car.
You can check the engine oil level in the centre display when the car is started. Check the oil level regularly.
You must only use engine oil of the prescribed quality, otherwise the recommended service intervals and warranty will not be applicable.
Turn off the engine.
Open the bonnet.
Locate the engine oil lid, placed almost in the centre of the engine.
Unscrew the lid slowly to release any pressure.
Carefully refill the amount specified in the message. If the level is too high, it can cause the engine to not working properly.
Warning
Be careful not to spill any engine oil in the engine compartment. If the oil gets in contact with hot parts, it may cause a fire.
Fasten the lid properly again.

The new oil level will not be detected instantly. To get the correct oil level reading, first drive your car for approximately 30 km (20 miles) and then park the car on a level surface for 5 minutes with the engine turned off.
