Volvo Car Malaysia Takes Home Two Awards at 2023 Malaysia Car of the Year Awards
Volvo Car Malaysia was awarded with two prestigious accolades for two of their outstanding models – the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric and the Volvo XC90 Recharge in the recently concluded 19th Malaysia Car of the Year (MCOTY).

MCOTY is an annual programme which serves as a platform for automotive enthusiasts and experts to recognise and celebrate the best new cars introduced earlier this year in Malaysia. With 121 new cars nominated for this year's awards, the competition was fierce and represented a diverse range of vehicles. The judging panel consisting of 10 esteemed local automotive journalists with evaluation on the cars based on several criteria, including design, safety, technology and value for money.
With over 26 nominees to compete against, Volvo Car Malaysia was nominated with two awards in two categories – ‘Electric Vehicles (EV) over RM200,000’ and ‘Hybrid Vehicles over RM250,000’, crowning the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric with ‘EV of the Year’ and Volvo XC90 Recharge with ‘Hybrid Vehicle of the Year’.
Judges also commented on the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric’s design which was built without the legacies of combustion engine. It is also among a handful of EV models assembled in Malaysia (CKD) that are exempted from SST and has ample range to allow worry-free travel with a large degree of freedom.
With Volvo Car Malaysia being presented with accolades from the EV and Hybrid Vehicles segment, they are a huge bolster to the brand’s continued commitment for electrification while leading the transition to embrace an electric lifestyle in Malaysia.

This promotion lasts until 31 January 2024.
