Type designations
Knowing the car's detailed information can help facilitate contact with a Volvo dealer and when ordering spare parts and accessories.
Labels
The product label is located on the right-hand door pillar and will be visible when the door is opened.
The engine number label is located on the engine. For certain engine alternatives, there is no label. In these cases you can read the engraved engine code on the engine instead.
The gearbox label is located on the gearbox.
Examples of information you can find on the product label:
- Build date
- Vehicle identification number
- Weight information
- Code designation for exterior colour

The vehicle build date is the calendar month and year in which the body and powertrain assemblies were conjoined and the vehicle was driven from the production line.
