Two-factor authentication in the Volvo Cars app

You need a Volvo ID to log in to your Volvo Cars app. To further protect your account from unauthorised users, two-factor authentication will be implemented later this year.

This article is applicable to models with Google built-in.

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account. In addition to your Volvo ID username and password, you need to enter a code that is sent to you via SMS1 or e-mail.

 Note

If you did not receive an email with the code, check your spam folder.

To prepare for the upcoming release, please go to volvoid.eu.volvocars.com/Account and check that you:

  • can log in to your account
  • have a current phone number1 or e-mail address registered to your account.

 Note

Your Volvo ID username is identical to the registered phone number1 or e-mail address.

If you have forgotten your username or password, you can find a solution in a separate article.
