Transfer ownership of Extended Warranty Insurance

Transferring your Extended Warranty Insurance to a new owner if you sell your car is an automatic process. You just need to be aware of your responsibilities.

Transfer Extended Warranty Insurance to new owner

Your Extended Warranty Insurance (EWI) is connected to your car, so if you sell it, this insurance will automatically transfer over to the new owner. You don’t need to do anything to facilitate this process outside of selling your car. The terms of the warranty extension do not change, so it will remain valid until the same date as originally agreed.

Please note: Because the EWI is connected to your car, this also means you cannot transfer it to anyone other than the owner of the car.

Outstanding fees

You are responsible for paying any outstanding fees related to the EWI policy and informing the new owner about the terms of the EWI. You can find more information about this in your Extended Warranty Insurance certificate and the Extended Warranty Insurance Terms and Conditions.
