Feature highlights

Explore the human-centric technology in the Volvo EX90, a fully electric 7-seater SUV defining a new era for safety.

Free-standing centre display

Take control of your journey on the 14.5" centre display. It has an intuitive, responsive interface, so it's easy to find your favourite apps when you want them and essential functions as you need them.

At-a-glance driver display

See primary driver information on a 9" display. It’s mounted on the steering wheel column so it’s always visible. Choose between Surround Mode for a traffic view, Map Mode for navigational guidance or Calm Mode for a minimalist overview.

Generous, intuitive displays

Your EX90 is equipped with two high-resolution displays with crisp readability, even in full sun.

These images show the driver display and centre display in light mode. Only dark mode will be available for the driver display and centre display in early production vehicles and light mode may be made available via an update later.

Remote control, peace of mind

Control and check in on your car from afar. See charging status and schedule charging, lock or unlock the doors, and even locate your Volvo or charging stations on a map.

Pre-condition the cabin

Set a departure time for your next journey and your car can pre-heat or cool the cabin to your preferences by the time you’re ready to go.

Volvo Cars app

The Volvo Cars app gives you effortless control of your EX90 before you even get in.

Remote functions may not be available when the vehicle has been parked for an extended period.

The start of a new era, powered by Safe Space Technology.

Detecting other road users

The EX90 can help you detect vulnerable road users, even in complete darkness. Mounted on the roof, lidar works together with cameras and radars to detect other road users up to 250 metres ahead.

Helping you avoid collisions

Your car can detect and alert you of potential collisions so you can safely avoid them. If you don't respond, it can pre-charge the brakes to boost their performance once you react or help you steer away from the hazard.

Keeping you on track

Your car can help you avoid veering off your path by monitoring lane markings and the road’s edge. If you change lanes without indicating or drift off the road, it can issue alerts and gentle steering corrections.

Cutting-edge exterior sensing capabilities

Enhance your feeling of safety with lidar that uses pulsed laser technology. It works together with cameras, radars and ultrasonic sensors to give a detailed image of what's going on around you.

Future technology and features are described and capabilities may vary. Features may not be available in all markets and will not be standard in all markets or for all models.

Lidar equipped on early production vehicles will begin in data collection mode and over time the technological capabilities of the lidar will expand to include additional sensing scenarios as part of our Safe Space Technology, including the ability to detect objects in darkness at highway speeds up to 250 metres.

A new era for safety and driver support

Staying centred

Relax into your drive by activating Pilot Assist. It adapts your speed and provides gentle steer assistance to help you stay centred in your lane and maintain a safe distance from the car in front.

Lane Change Assist

Stress less about changing lanes using Lane Change Assist. Tap your indicator, and your car can find a safe gap in traffic to help you steer into the other lane.

New generation Pilot Assist

Pilot Assist supports relaxed, yet focused driving by providing gentle steering, braking and acceleration adjustments, while you keep your hands on the wheel.

Driver support functions are not a substitute for the driver's attention and judgment. Brake intervention is only active at lower speeds. Driver remains responsible for safe driving at all times.

Wireless phone charger

Store your smartphone within arm's reach in the centre console on a dedicated charging pad. The shape of the pad is designed to hold your phone steadily in place.

Up to six USB-C ports

Charge your phone wherever you're sitting in the car with two USB-C ports in each row of the cabin.

Boot power outlet

Always be prepared for outdoor adventures with a 12V power outlet in the car boot. Power your cooler, generator, mattress pump or portable devices.

Power your life beyond the road

Your EX90 is hardware-ready to power your home and support during power outages in some cases.

This technology has the potential to let you support a more balanced energy grid, for example, by taking in more energy when there´s a surplus of renewable energy or selling power back during peak usage hours when there is more demand.

Bi-directional charging

Initially rolling out in select markets, bi-directional charging has the potential to help power your house, your appliances or even return power to the energy grid.

Core computing

Onboard, two powerful core computers control all functions of your Volvo, rather than hundreds of small vehicle computers. This provides you with a lightweight yet robust and smoothly operating digital in-car network prepared for future upgrades like autonomous drive.

Future-proof mobility

Having a software-driven car means you can continually improve your car's performance, connectivity and safety through easy software updates, just as you would with your smartphone or laptop.

Convenient, over-the-air upgrades

Regular software updates improve the operating system and add new features to your car. All you need to do is accept the notification via the centre display so it can begin upgrading once your car is empty and locked.

Born smart, engineered to get even smarter

The EX90 is part of a new generation of software-defined cars that offer new in-car experiences and a richer, more connected life on the move.
