An orange symbol is illuminated in the driver display when a problem needs to be rectified using AdBlue.
The AdBlue system gives a warning in different stages
When the AdBlue level starts to become low, or when service is required, the system gives a warning in different stages. A second symbol illuminates in combination with the orange symbol, see table below.

AdBlue dosing or AdBlue quality Service of AdBlue is required | The system does not function as it should. It will not be possible to start the car after the distance indicated in the driver display. Contact a workshop2 to check the function. The symbol remains illuminated until service has been carried out. | |
Engine start prohibited Fill a minimum of AdBlue | Starting the car is prevented until AdBlue has been filled. Park the car as level and horizontal as possible so that the car can detect the AdBlue level. Fill to the amount specified in the driver display or contact a workshop2. | |
Engine start prohibited Service of AdBlue system needed to allow restart | System not working as intended, contact a workshop2 to check the function. It is not possible to start the car before the service has been completed. |
Note
- The car must be level for the level gauge to be able to correctly register the amount of AdBlue filled.
- After filling with AdBlue, follow the instructions regarding empty tank and diesel engine when starting the car.
