Enabling automatic dimming

Bright lights can reflect in the rear-view mirror, such as from other cars' headlights. This can cause a glare effect but your car's automatic dimming counteracts this.

Enable automatic dimming to avoid being distracted by light from behind. For everyone's safety and for your comfort, make sure that you activate it before you start driving. You turn it off in the same way that you turn it on.

 Note

If the light sensors in the rear-view mirror are obstructed in a way that prevents light from reaching them, the automatic dimming effect will be reduced. For example, parking permits or sunshades placed high up on the windscreen could stop light from reaching the sensors.
Press the car symbol in the bottom bar and go to Settings.
Go to Controls → Mirrors and wipers → Auto dim rear view mirror.
Turn it on or off.
