It is now possible to upgrade your Twin Motor1 to a performance version. The upgrade includes a power increase in the front motor as well as a new drive mode. The performance upgrade is a software offer and you can purchase it in the Volvo Cars app.
The performance upgrade provides a sportier driving experience with a 25 kW power increase in the front motor. This will increase the base power from 300 kW (402 bhp) to 325 kW (436 bhp) and reduces the acceleration time for 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) by 0.2 seconds.
Note
Once you have purchased the upgrade in the Volvo Cars app, you will receive instructions on how to complete it. The installation process is the same as for a normal OTA update.
Important
When buying the upgrade via the Volvo Cars app, you might be required to re-register your car with the local authorities.
Performance drive mode
The performance software upgrade includes a performance drive mode, which gives your car a sportier throttle response. Due to the changed pedal mapping, the accelerator is more responsive and makes the car feel more agile.
You can activate or deactivate the performance drive mode in the centre display.
Go to 
> Driving.
> Driving.Activate or deactivate Performance.
By default, the drive mode will be deactivated between drives.
