Do plug-in hybrid cars need to be charged?
Yes, all forms of hybrid cars need to be charged, but only plug-in hybrids can be charged at electric charging points at home or on the road.Batteries in mild hybrids only rely on internal charging through regenerative braking. Learn more about charging.
Are plug-in hybrid cars good for long distance driving?
Volvo plug-in hybrids are designed to travel long distances without you having to worry about the battery range. The dual power of the gas engine and electric motor ensures increased efficiency and performance across long distances.
Why are plug-in hybrids more expensive than mild hybrids?
Although the initial investment is greater, you’ll enjoy an extended range and better performance as part of the car’s value. Also, the ability to drive in Pure mode, or on pure electricity, will help you save money on fuel costs.
Is there a battery warranty?
For extra assurance, the warranty on the hybrid battery is extended to 8 years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first) under the Federal Emissions Warranty (10 years/150,000 miles for CA emission warranty states).
