Adaptive cruise control communication and status

Learn how adaptive cruise control's status is communicated in the car.

The driver information area of the display shows the status of adaptive cruise control using graphics and symbols. Important information can also appear as notifications.

Display symbols and communication

The primary status is shown below the gear indicator. It tells you whether adaptive cruise control is active or not.
Adaptive cruise control is off but available to activate if all conditions are met.
Adaptive cruise control is active.

The target speed appears in green next to the speedometer.

Adaptive cruise control communication in surround mode

When the driver information area shows the surround display mode, adaptive cruise control's status and actions are shown as animations. These can show distance-keeping and when your car is adjusting the speed to other vehicles ahead.

 Important

Using surround mode

Surround mode cannot perfectly depict what is really happening on the road around you, so do not rely on it when you are driving.

When the display shows the calm display mode, adaptive cruise control's status is communicated using symbols instead.
Adaptive cruise control is adapting the car's speed and distance to a vehicle ahead.
