Connectivity issues

A symbol visible in the top left corner of the centre display shows the car's connectivity status. If there is a problem, there are a few things you can try to restore the connectivity.

Change of ownership with connected services

In the event of a change of ownership, there are some steps that need to be taken to unlink the previous owner and give the new owner the option to connect the Volvo Cars app to the car.

Connect to the Internet with Sensus Connected Touch

The Sensus Connected Touch option allows you to connect to the Internet using your mobile phone or a 3G/4G dongle.

PIN code

A PIN code is used in the Volvo Cars app to verify that a person is authorised to perform connected services in a certain car. A PIN code is not used for cars with Google built-in.

Subscription

To use the connected functions in the Volvo Cars app, the car requires a subscription for connected services. Your subscription includes emergency assistance and security services as well as app services. Cars equipped with Google built-in are supplied with a subscription to digital services, which provides access to connected functions in the Volvo Cars app, as well as additional services. The subscription is valid for 4 years.

Extending your subscription

To use the connected functions in the Volvo Cars app, the car requires a subscription for connected services. You can choose between different time periods when you renew or reactivate your subscription for connected services. Cars equipped with Google built-in are supplied with a subscription to digital services, which provides access to connected functions in the Volvo Cars app, as well as additional services. The subscription is valid for 4 years.
