Share the car with family and friends
As a car owner, you can use the Volvo On Call app to manage loaning and sharing of your car with selected persons without having to meet up to hand over the keys and car. The individuals you invite to be a guest user can send you a request to borrow the car during a specific period of time. If you approve a request, the guest is given access to select Volvo On Call functions and can start and drive the car during the specified time period.
Once the booking is complete, the guest will no longer have access to the Volvo On Call functions and will no longer be able to unlock the car. If the driving journal is activated, after each completed booking you will receive a summary of the distance driven, amount of fuel consumed as well as start and end time for the booking.
The guest user does not need his/her own key to get into the car, but unlocks it using the app. After the guest user has unlocked the car, a Care Key is used to start and driving. It is therefore important that a Care Key remains in the car.
In the Volvo On Call app, the function has three main components:
- Manage, invite and register guest users
- Manage and approve bookings
- Use the car as a guest user
