Oprogramowanie firmy Gracenote („Oprogramowanie Gracenote”) uruchamia ten program w celu dokonania identyfikacji płyty i/lub plików oraz uzyskania informacji związanych z muzyką, takich jak nazwa, wykonawca, ścieżka i tytuł („Dane Gracenote”) z serwerów internetowych lub wbudowanych baz danych (wspólnie nazywanych „serwerami”), a także w celu realizacji innych działań.
